This very shop has been owned and operated by the Mutton family for four generations, making it one of the oldest family owned businesses in NSW and the ACT.
Founded by Edward ‘Teddy’ Mutton and wife Polly in 1913, the shop was taken over by their son Len in 1940. “Len Mutton and Co” is still the name you see over our door today.
Len’s grand-daughter Fiona took management in the 90s, bringing Mutton’s into the twenty-first century and cementing its reputation as a shopping destination not just for Braidwood but the far corners of our region. Today’s customers are worldly and discerning, but they return to Len Mutton and Co for the experience and the carefully curated selection of fine ladies’ fashions, menswear, interesting accessories, gifts and homewares.
The history of our store is tangible, but as Len himself used to say, what’s on offer is ‘as modern as the minute after midnight.’ With contemporary style and consistent quality, Muttons remains the cornerstone of quality and customer service.
